Accreditation and Quality Assurance (AQA) Intern (24-Month Fixed-Term Internship Progamme)

The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) is a registered private higher education provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of ADvTECH Ltd, listed on the JSE.
The IIE’s Central Academic Team (CAT) is the custodian of academic quality, educational technology, and governance across the institution. It leads academic strategy, compliance, and operational integrity through robust governance structures.
The current CAT is in the process of being repositioned as a Centre of Excellence, a hub for academic innovation, staff capacity building, quality assurance, and governance across both the schools and tertiary divisions.
As we reposition CAT, we are excited to invite applications for the role of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Intern. Based at The IIE’s head office in Sandton, this role will support the Accreditation and Quality Assurance (AQA) department.The purpose of the job:
Provide administrative and coordination support to the Accreditation and Quality Assurance team to maintain compliant, accurate records and assist with programme accreditation tasks, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
Reporting to:The successful candidate will report to the Relevant Departmental Manager.
Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this Position:
- Compile and file evidence packs (policies, minutes, moderation reports) using the approved folder structure and naming conventions.
- Assist with document control: versioning, formatting, proofreading, and template compliance.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and track action items to closure.
- Help maintain registers (policy review schedule, risk/issue log, external moderators/examiners).
- Support logistics for site visits and audits (room bookings, packs, attendance registers, checklists).
- Perform basic compliance checks against checklists
- Prepare standard documentation using provided templates.
- Keep sensitive information confidential and follow POPIA and institutional policies.
Minimum requirements:
- Unemployed and between the ages of 18–35 years.
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must have completed the qualification at NQF8 (Honours)
- Strong MS Office skills (Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets—basic formulas & pivot tables, PowerPoint/Slides).
- Be proficient in Adobe.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and written communication.
- Ability to follow checklists and standard operating procedures.
- Willingness to learn SA higher education Quality Assurance basics (NQF/HEQSF, CHE).
