Job Description – Accounting Specialist Department: Finance Location: [Puebla, Mexico] – [Hybrid] Reports to: Accounting Team Lead Position Summary The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Transaction Processing: * Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently. * Verify and record financial transactions in the accounting system. * Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports. * Manage and reconcile vendor and customer accounts. Account Reconciliation: * Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts. * Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. * Prepare journal entries and adjustments as needed. Reporting and Analysis: * Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. * Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances. * Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested by management. Month-End and Year-End Closing: * Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. * Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audit purposes. * Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Collaboration and Communication: * Collaborate with other departments to gather and provide financial information. * Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders. * Respond to inquiries regarding financial transactions and account balances. Other Responsibilities: * Maintain organized and accurate accounting records. * Assist with internal and external audits. * Stay up-to-date on accounting regulations and best practices. Qualifications Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting. Skills and Abilities: * Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. * Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks). * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Effective communication and interpersonal skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required). * Experience with financial reporting. * Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
