Accounting Manager (gn)

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for all accounting processes for four German companies
• Leading and developing the six-person team
• Ensuring the correct and timely preparation of financial statements and management reporting in accordance with HGB and IFRS
• Coordination and management of compliance processes, including VAT, corporate tax, and withholding tax
• Central point of contact in the finance environment for local legal and regulatory issues
• Ensuring compliance with internal control systems and company policies
• Close cooperation with auditors, tax advisors, and authorities in annual financial statement audits and tax audits
• Leading and supporting optimization and automation processes in accounting
• Monitoring intercompany transactions and treasury
• Collaboration with regional and global finance teams and participation in transformation and migration projects

Qualifications

• Successfully completed university degree with a focus on finance, accounting, business administration, or a comparable field, and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, or comparable training with corresponding professional experience, ideally in an international environment with responsibility for German companies
• In-depth knowledge of accounting according to HGB and IFRS, as well as German tax law, including the preparation of statutory financial statements and support for financial statement audits
• Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end processes in accounting (general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and reporting)
• Initial leadership experience or demonstrable leadership potential, strong communication skills, and initiative
• Very good German and English language skills
