Consultant SAP Finance & Controlling Applications

Responsibilities

• Takes ownership of SAP FI/CO incident resolution (GL, AR, AP, AA, CO) by performing root cause analysis, tracking and resolving issues, implementing preventative measures, and conducting regular system monitoring and health checks;
• Administers key SAP add-ons (e.g., AEB, Xaption) and oversees financial data interfaces (e.g., HR, HFM), ensuring data consistency, resolving errors, and coordinating updates with vendors and cross-functional teams;
• Implements and documents SAP FI/CO system changes in line with change management processes, applying hands-on customizing skills to ensure application stability and responsiveness;
• Supports key users with SAP process issues and improvements, serving as the primary contact for assigned functional areas, ensuring transparency, sharing knowledge, and collaborating with international IT colleagues;
• Contributes to continuous improvement of finance-related processes and SAP usage by supporting automation, simplification initiatives, and the implementation of best practices across business functions;
• Participates in or supports larger IT projects related to the financial accounting, controlling, and planning application landscape;
• Coordinates updates and changes with external vendors and cross-functional teams;
• Ensures transparent communication regarding system changes and incidents;
• Helps maintain and evolves operational and financial reporting in collaboration with the Data & Analytics team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a comparable qualification;
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an international business setting;
• 3-5 years of professional experience working with SAP FI/CO, ideally including configuration/customizing and operational support;
• Solid hands-on experience in SAP Finance modules (GL, AP, AR, AA), with some exposure to Controlling (e.g., cost centers, internal orders, ideally also CO-PS);
• Confident in handling customizing tasks and resolving standard system issues.
• Basic knowledge of SAP add-ons and data interfaces, especially in the finance environment, is a plus;
• Experience in complex system landscapes with multiple integration points;
• Fluent in English, additional German language skills would be an advantage;
• Work independently, reliably, and with a strong sense of responsibility
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Proactive in solving problems, documenting solutions, and communicating clearly with both business and technical teams;
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international team environment.
