The Company

Our client is a well-established, family-owned accounting practice based in Glen Eden, Auckland. With a reputation for providing high-quality accounting and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients, they pride themselves on fostering a friendly, supportive, and collaborative working environment where every team member is valued.

Due to a temporary requirement, they are seeking an Accountant to join their close-knit team on a part-time basis (3 days per week) through to March 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for flexibility while working in a welcoming small business where you can make a genuine impact.

The Role

In this role you will be reporting into the owner and your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver accurate, proactive bookkeeping and accounting support to a portfolio of SME clients.
• Prepare GST returns, income tax returns, and financial statements while reviewing financial information, identifying discrepancies, and completing monthly Trial Balance reconciliations.
• Act as a senior point of contact
• Build strong relationships with clients by communicating clearly and professionally via email, phone, Teams, and in-person meetings.
• Maintain accurate time records and effectively manage your workload to meet client deadlines and budgets.
• Keep client procedures and documentation up to date

Your Profile

You are an experienced Accountant with a strong background in public practice and enjoy working closely with SME clients. You have excellent attention to detail, are confident preparing financial statements and tax returns, and thrive in a collaborative, small-team environment. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage your own workload are essential, along with experience using MYOB.
