Accountant

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our client’s dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements, ensuring tax compliance, and overseeing accounting processes from start to finish. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage junior staff and review their work
  

• Prepare Annual Financial Statements and Management Accounts for all entity types
  

• Handle full bookkeeping function from cashbook to trial balance
  

• Reconcile customers, suppliers, and general ledger accounts
  

• Calculate and submit VAT201, EMP201, and Workman’s Compensation
  

• Prepare and submit tax returns for companies, CCs, individuals, and trusts
  

• Handle provisional tax and SARS correspondence, including VAT audits
  

• Manage CIPC annual returns and company registrations
  

• Liaise directly with clients, ensuring strong relationships and quality service delivery

Additional Information:

• Working hours: 08:00 – 16:30 (Monday to Friday)
  

• Own vehicle required; occasional travel may be necessary

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree – completed
  

• Completed Articles
  

• SAIPA / CA(SA) / AGA(SA) registration (essential)
  

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
  

• Advanced knowledge of Income Tax and VAT legislation
  

• Proficiency in DraftWorx, Sage One, Xero, Syft, and Microsoft Office Suite
