Our client is a growing corporate group that unites specialized software companies for the public sector under one roof. The focus is on future-relevant areas such as mobility, energy, and public safety.

Tasks

As an Accountant, you will independently manage two to three software companies and, together with the companies' finance teams, ensure reliable financial statements and scalable accounting processes.

  • Responsibility for Financial Statements: Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS for multiple companies.
  • Accounting: Management of ongoing bookkeeping from general ledger and fixed assets to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account reconciliations.
  • Software Accounting: Accounting for specific business transactions related to software licenses, SaaS models, project business, as well as maintenance and support contracts.
  • Taxes & International: Preparation of VAT returns as well as processing of cross-border matters and support with annual tax returns.
  • Intercompany: Reconciliation and offsetting of business transactions within the international corporate group.
  • Systems & Digitalization: Active participation in the introduction of Odoo as well as in the automation and further development of accounting processes and system interfaces.
  • Stakeholder Management: Close cooperation with the finance teams and management as well as central point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and tax auditors.

Qualifications

  • Commercial apprenticeship or degree with a focus on accounting, finance, or tax. Further qualification as a Financial Accountant (IHK) is a great advantage, but not a must.
  • Approx. 5 years of relevant professional experience in accounting or financial accounting.
  • Very good knowledge according to HGB and ideally IFRS.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and good Excel skills, as well as an interest in digitalization, automation, and the introduction of new systems.
  • Very good German language skills and good English language skills.
  • High degree of independence, accuracy, and a hands-on mentality, as well as enjoyment in taking responsibility and developing structures.
  • Enjoyment of teamwork as well as motivation to develop professionally and perspectively.
  • Important: Desire and motivation to learn and grow in a dynamic environment; the corporate group offers a lot of potential and development opportunities.

Nice to haves: Any additional know-how is a plus point.

  • Experience in a software, IT, or technology company.
  • Experience in the parallel management of multiple companies or business units.
  • Knowledge of Austrian UGB (Company Law).
  • Experience from auditing or consulting, for example from a Big Four environment.
