Accountant/ Internal Auditor

RPO Recruitment's client is looking for an Accountant / Internal Auditor to join their team in Polokwane, Limpopo. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining commitment registers, overseeing accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, and enforcing internal controls in line with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage the commitment register to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial commitments.

• Monitor commitments for compliance with approved budgets and procurement procedures.

• Oversee accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Assist in preparation and coordination of external audits.

• Respond to audit queries and provide necessary documentation for audit processes.

• Prepare accurate and timely financial and management reports.

• Support continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting, internal auditing, or financial management.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal controls.

• Experience with commitment register management and budget monitoring (advantageous).

• Familiarity with audit processes and financial reporting standards.

• Proficient in Sage Evolution and Microsoft Excel.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• Discretion and integrity in handling confidential financial information.
