Academic: Programme Leader: Bachelor of Education Honours in Gender Studies Listing reference: manco_000759 Listing status: Online Apply by: 1 October 2025 Position summary Job category: Others: Education and Training Location: Durban Contract: Fixed Term Contract EE position: No Introduction To provide efficient direction and oversight for a particular academic programme/Programmes. This position involves a range of duties focused on guaranteeing the programme's success and excellence, while ensuring the highest standards of academic quality, integrity, and relevance. The Programme Leader will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of the programme, including the development of programme curricula, the supervision of programme staff, and the monitoring of programme performance. The Programme Leader will also be expected to contribute to the development of the department's research and teaching profile, and to participate in departmental and faculty meetings. Key responsibilities: • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the programme, ensuring its alignment with the department's and faculty's goals and objectives. • Develop and implement programme curricula, in consultation with programme staff and stakeholders. • Supervise and mentor programme staff, including lecturers, tutors, and administrative staff. • Monitor and evaluate programme performance, including student outcomes, programme quality, and programme relevance. • Contribute to the development of the department's research and teaching profile, and participate in departmental and faculty meetings. • Foster and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including students, staff, and external partners. • Ensure the programme's compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations. • Participate in the development of the department's budget and resource allocation. • Perform other duties as required by the department and faculty. Requirements: • A Master's degree in Education, Gender Studies, or a related field. • A minimum of 3 years' experience in programme leadership or a related field. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. • Familiarity with academic policies, procedures, and regulations. • Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.
