Nelson Mandela university is a dynamic African university offering an innovative Health Sciences Education model aimed at addressing South African healthcare and has established the country’s 10th medical school which aims to address the shortage of skilled health professionals in the country. The department is seeking an Academic Clinical Head of Department Surgery who will provide academic leadership, mentorship and support to the clinical staff, students and researchers within the department. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the department’s strategic plan, participate in curriculum development and review, and engage in research that aligns with the department’s priorities. The ideal candidate should have a strong track record of academic achievement, leadership experience, and a passion for teaching and mentoring. A Ph.D. or equivalent qualification is required.
