We are looking for you for the Public Health Office of the State Capital Stuttgart. The position is permanent.

The Public Health Office, with its 300 employees, significantly contributes to promoting health, preventing diseases in their development, enabling participation, and further reducing inequalities in health opportunities. The position is located in the Department of Child, Youth, and Dental Health.

The department combines the areas of child and youth health, school health nurses, and dental health. The focus is on the medical and socio-medical care and counseling of children, adolescents, and families, the execution of school entry examinations, dental preventive examinations in daycare centers and schools, as well as diverse preventive and child protection measures. A special emphasis is placed on supporting families in situations of health and social stress. The services are complemented by the work of school health nurses directly at the schools.

• You will be responsible for the supervisory and professional oversight of the approximately 80 employees in the department.
• Furthermore, you will be significantly involved in the professional and strategic orientation of the department and actively shape change processes.
• You will engage in cooperation and network work with other municipal offices and institutions.
• The planning, coordination, and networking of service structures are also part of your responsibilities.
• Your tasks also include representing the department in professional and political bodies and committees, including the planning and presentation of city council documents.

A change or addition to the scope of duties is reserved.

• Specialist in Public Health or Pediatrics, or
• Dentist, or
• Individuals with a completed Master's degree in Public Management or a degree as a Diplom-Verwaltungswirt/-in (certified administrator) with eligibility for the higher non-technical civil service career path, or
• A completed Master's degree in Administration, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or a comparable field of study, or
• Civil servants in the higher non-technical administrative service.
• Many years of management experience or proof of corresponding leadership qualifications.
• Knowledge of the structures of a large city administration is an advantage.
• Proof of measles protection is required (for those born in 1971 or later).

Depending on your qualifications, we offer you a position in salary group A 15 (€6,329.31 – €7,892.36) / pay group 14 TVöD (€5,298.27 – €7,551.78) or pay group 15 TVöD (€5,827.86 – €8,204.11).

In addition, as a senior physician employed by the company, you will receive an indefinite labor market allowance of 20% of the respective pay group at level 2 (€1,128.67 or €1,241.79). This allowance is exclusively granted to senior physicians employed by the company.
All amounts are monthly gross values for full-time employment.
