IT Department Head (m/w/d)

Full Time Lead

Job description

We are looking together with our partner's management for an IT Department Head (m/w/d) in North Rhine-Westphalia. In this position, you will take on a key role in a established and growing company in the construction and planning sector. You will shape the further development of the IT landscape significantly and ensure that infrastructure, systems, and processes run smoothly – from project management to innovative technologies.

Tasks

  • You will develop and implement a sustainable IT strategy, define goals, prioritize projects, and successfully set strategic initiatives in motion
  • You will lead the 10-member IT department professionally and disciplinarily and ensure stability, security, and continuous optimization of all systems
  • You will actively develop the IT team, promote self-responsibility, and strengthen cooperation and clear structures
  • You are responsible for operating and further developing your own data center, storage and backup solutions, and software landscapes
  • You will steer and implement innovative IT projects, such as introducing modern collaboration tools, optimizing IT processes, and shaping a KI strategy
  • You will work closely with the departments, understand their requirements, and develop practical solutions to improve operational workflows
  • You will serve as an interface to management, advise strategically, and actively shape the digital transformation of the company

Qualification

  • Multiple years of leadership experience in IT with proven expertise in developing complex IT landscapes and managing IT projects
  • Fundamental technical knowledge in IT infrastructure, IT operations, and applications
  • Outstanding social skills and situational leadership experience to motivate and develop teams
  • Hands-on mentality paired with strategic overview
  • German on a native speaker level, good English language skills
