3rd Officer Deck

Position Summary: The 3rd Officer Deck is a key member of the ships Navigation Team, responsible for assisting in the safe operation, navigation, and compliance of the vessel. This role ensures smooth daily operations, supports safety protocols, and upholds the highest maritime standards while at sea. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the safe navigation of the vessel and perform regular bridge watch duties. Monitor radar, navigation equipment, and communication systems to ensure compliance and safety. Maintain and update nautical charts, publications, and navigational tools. Assist in the planning and execution of voyage plans, including passage planning and weather routing. Participate in safety drills, emergency procedures, and training exercises to ensure crew readiness. Supervise deck operations, including cargo handling, mooring, and anchoring. Ensure the deck department complies with all relevant regulations, including those set by the IMO, SOLAS, and Flag State. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness on the bridge and deck areas. Assist the Chief Officer and Master with administrative tasks and reporting as required. Promote a culture of safety and teamwork among the crew. Qualifications: Valid STCW III/1 Certificate of Competency as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch. Relevant sea-going experience as a Deck Officer. Strong knowledge of navigation, maritime regulations, and shipboard operations. Proficiency in the use of navigational equipment, including radar, ECDIS, and GPS. Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions. Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
