3D Visualization Artist and Design Artist
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
KEY TASKS PER OUTPUTS Work output 1: Financial Management
Client and vendor Management
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Diploma in Interior Design
- Legal requirements
- Passed credit and criminal checks
- S.A Citizen or valid work permit for S.A
- In house Understanding
- Awareness of company policies and procedures
- Understand business ethics and values
- Understand company structure and reporting lines
- Business processes and procedures
- BIM workflows and Autodesk Revit proficiency
- Proficiency in Twinmotion and 3ds Max for rendering and visualization.
- Strong Photoshop and PowerPoint skills
- Understanding of architectural drawings, detailing, and design processes
- Knowledge of Corona/V-Ray or other rendering engines (preferred)
- Experience with VR, real-time rendering, or animation (preferred)
- At least 2+ years' experience as a Render Artist / Visualisation Specialist with a strong portfolio
- Proven experience as an Architectural Designer.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- The Render Artist and Design Assistant is responsible for producing high-quality architectural visualisations while actively supporting the design team in project delivery. This dual role combines advanced rendering expertise with hands-on design production, contributing to the creative and technical excellence of the studio. The Render Artist will assist in training team members, ensuring a seamless workflow, and contributing to the overall creative output of the studio.
KEY TASKS PER OUTPUTS Work output 1: Financial Management
- Cost effective allocation and use of company resources
- Keeping track of external vendors' fees and progress.
- Access what the BIM software requirements are and advise management thereof. Report potential pitfalls, challenges, and solutions in the project before they have financial implications.
- Printing: Assist in reducing printing costs and log Printing Tickets for all print jobs issued to clients to ensure recovery of the cost to the company.
- Adhere to Company business ethics and values.
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
- Align to core values and mission.
- Adhere to department processes and procedures
- Deliver work within deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Ensure adherence to company design standards, policies, and workflows.
- Coordinate effectively with team members to ensure smooth project outputs.
- Operational Visualisation & Rendering
- Produce photorealistic renders and animations using Twinmotion, 3ds Max, and other rendering platforms.
- Post-produce visuals in Photoshop and prepare presentations in PowerPoint.
- Maintain and expand the library of materials, textures, and 3D assets.
- Provide rendering training and mentorship to team members.
- Explore advanced tools (VR, animation, real-time rendering) for presentation development.
- Assist architects and designers with Revit model development, drawings, and design production.
- Translate sketches, concepts, and BIM models into compelling visual narratives. Ensure deliverables are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project intent.
- Participate in design discussions, offering creative input from a visualisation perspective.
- Management of workload through effective time management and follow through.
- Meet predetermined targets and deadlines.
- Maintain and provide input into personal development plans for yourself
- Undergo training when required to improve and or to acquire new skills
- Partake in the performance management process by completing your review
- Commit to continued learning and development to enhance the impact of your role
- Keep up to date with emerging visualisation software, sustainable design practices, and architectural trends.
- Contribute to training and development within the team
Client and vendor Management
- Support project presentations by producing visuals tailored for client communication.
- Collaborate with consultants and vendors where visualisation deliverables are required.
- Manage client's expectations by communicating workflow effectively and maintaining a high-quality work output.
