Airswift seeks for O&G client: 2nd Mate Officer for 9-month project. Job Overview The 2nd Mate acts as the ship's navigator, responsible for voyage planning, updating nautical charts and operating the GMDSS. The function requires technical rigor, decision-making and strong commitment to safety. Project duration: 9 months, with possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities To prepare and review the passage plan, ensuring adherence to international standards. Maintain nautical charts and ensure their accuracy. Ensure compliance with International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) and other relevant regulations. Coordinate with bridge team to ensure safe navigation. Conduct regular inspections of navigational equipment and systems. Monitor weather conditions and alert the crew accordingly. Provide guidance on navigation procedures and safety protocols. Key Requirements Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science or related field. Minimum 2 years of experience as a 2nd Mate Officer. Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and standards.
