Do you like to get hands-on, enjoy working in logistics, and is the forklift your favorite tool? At Defense in Stroe, we are looking for you! Without proper equipment, our units cannot do their work. You will literally help them get started with new vehicles, trailers, and other vehicle parts, thus playing an important role in the large DVOW2 project. Work hard and see immediate results!
You will work at the Defense Material Pooling Organization (DMPO) in Stroe. Here you will contribute to the DVOW2 (Defense-wide Replacement of Operational Wheeled Vehicles) project. Your main task? Ensuring that new vehicles are fully ready for use. Many new items have been purchased recently, such as trailers and containers. You will ensure that these are neatly prepared and handed over to the units. This happens as soon as they have returned their old material to you. Is it quiet around the DVOW2 project for a while? No problem, then you can simply join the regular team of DMPO Stroe and help with the daily activities.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
You will prepare new vehicles for use by the units.
You will prepare and distribute new materials (such as trailers and containers).
You will receive old material when units return it.
You will assist with the daily tasks of the regular DMPO Stroe team when there is no project work.
Job requirements
You possess one or more forklift certificates.
You have at least driving license B and C.
You have some experience working in logistics.
You can plan your own work well and maintain an overview.
You always work very neatly and precisely.
You are helpful and ready to assist the units we support.

Defense has good secondary employment conditions. From 2025 onwards, defense employees will no longer receive vacation pay and year-end bonus as separate payments. Instead, they will accrue these monthly through the Individual Choice Budget (IKB). The IKB for defense employees totals 16.33 percent of the salary. With the IKB, defense employees can decide for themselves when, on what, and how much budget they spend on time, money, or tax facilities. This can be up to the maximum monthly accrued budget.
The IKB can be used for:
- A maximum of 15 percent of the salary can be used monthly for the exchange of the commuting allowance;
- The monthly difference between the allowance for the costs of personal transportation for commuting and the fiscal maximum;
- A bicycle for personal use, including bicycle accessories and bicycle insurance;
- A computer that can also be used for work or study, including computer accessories and computer insurance;
- A battery or electrical parts for a bicycle;
- Payment of union membership fees.
- Defense expects to further expand the possibilities of the IKB in the future.
- Secondary employment conditions include, among others, up to 75% paid parental leave (under certain conditions), study facilities, extensive sports facilities, an additional leave arrangement for the elderly, and a commuting allowance.
Particulars
A security screening (VGB) is part of the application process.
It is mandatory that you, as a civilian applicant, have Dutch nationality. The ability to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is a condition for employment. Furthermore, a security screening and reference check may be part of the selection procedure. This involves a background check on, among other things, criminal records and financial matters, which takes an average of 8 weeks.
Selection process:
We will close the vacancy earlier upon receiving sufficient responses from suitable candidates.
