1505 Mechatronic Design Engineer, Lighting Systems ADV

We are looking for an experienced mechatronics engineer with expertise in automotive lighting systems, focused on the development of exterior lighting. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in CATIA, practical experience in a laboratory performing tests and solving problems, as well as solid knowledge in CAD design and manufacturing processes.

Activities to be performed:

• Work on exterior lighting.
• Work in a laboratory performing tasks of problem-solving.
• Design and develop exterior lighting components from the conceptual phase to series production.
• Perform studies of packaging, layout, and viability within the vehicle at early stages of development.
• Create CAD models in CATIA V5/V6 to meet internal deliverables and collaborate with Tier 1 suppliers.
• Execute validation and testing activities in a laboratory, including failure analysis and design optimization.
• Prepare technical documentation such as engineering specifications (TES), DFMEA, and DVP&R.
• Coordinate activities with suppliers and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.
• Participate in the integration of lighting systems with other areas of the vehicle.
• Support the construction of prototypes and adjustments based on test feedback.
• Interpret CAE simulations to implement design improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• More than 3 years of experience in engineering in the automotive sector.
• Experience in mechatronics with expertise in lighting. Work on exterior lighting.
• Knowledge of CATIA and experience working in a laboratory performing tasks of problem-solving.
• Demonstrated experience in design/development of lighting devices with a focus on high efficiency.
• Knowledge of plastics, composites, and basic metal sheets.
• Experience with CATIA V5 and V6
• Experience with the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and other technical documents.
• Fundamentals of GD&T knowledge.
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrate comprehension of the design process from initial concept to tooling and start of production.
• Availability to travel to plants and suppliers. (American visa)
• Intermediate-advanced English
• Experience with NX, Unigraphics
• Initiative in developing CAD, designing parts, and generative design forms.
• Prior experience in launching lighting devices at a plant will be valued.
• Prior experience in original equipment manufacturers (OEM) or Tier 1 suppliers in the automotive sector will be valued.
