Job description
Hello! We are Applysia, an HR Tech company from Münster. Our software for personnel selection is used by leading companies and consultancies worldwide to make assessment processes more efficient.
With our solution, we sustainably simplify and improve assessment centers in order to recognize, promote, and develop people's potential without prejudice. With competence, versatility, and commitment, we are shaping the assessment of the 21st century. Our goal: to digitize HR processes and make selection procedures fairer, more sustainable, and more efficient.
Tasks
As a Senior Fullstack Developer, you will drive the development of our backend, frontend, and our API together with us. You will implement new features independently and be actively involved in architectural and technology decisions.
It is important to us to develop an application that is not only high-performing but also easy for every user to understand and pleasant to use.
Qualifications
- You have already developed with modern frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Spring Boot, or Laravel. Rails experience is a plus, but we primarily value your comprehensive full-stack competence.
- Frontend development brings you joy. We use Rails in combination with Vue.js to implement interactive features.
- You are familiar with AWS or interested in familiarizing yourself with AWS technologies.
- Testing is important to you, whether it's unit, integration, or end-to-end tests (e.g., with Cypress).
- You have experience working in agile teams with a CI/CD process and ideally with GitHub Actions.
- You have an overall overview of the application and love working on both the backend and the frontend.
- You enjoy learning new topics and technologies and creatively solve complex problems.
- You want to significantly shape a product, enjoy making technical decisions, and always keep the customer's needs in mind.
- Good German skills in speaking and writing.
Benefits
- Permanent full-time employment.
- Flexible working hours: You decide when you are most productive.
- Free choice of work equipment: Mac, mechanical keyboard, plugins, IDE – you decide what you need, and we'll provide it.
- Regular team events: We value a good company culture – we work together, not just next to each other.
- Take on responsibility from the start, supported by regular feedback.
- Room for your own ideas, experiences, and initiative.
This is how our application process works
A transparent and fair selection process is important to us. We want to get to know you and your skills as best as possible – at the same time, you should also get a good feeling for who we are and how we work. That's why our process consists of three clearly structured steps:
1. Short Phone Interview (approx. 30 minutes)
In a first conversation, we get to know each other. We will introduce you to the position, our team, and our way of working, and answer all your questions. At the same time, we are interested in what motivates you, what experience you bring, and what you wish for from your next role.
Why? – The personal impression counts. We want to find out if we are a good fit – professionally and personally.
2. Aptitude Assessment (approx. 2–3 hours, flexible scheduling)
In this step, we ask you to complete three modules:
- Coding Challenge: You can showcase your coding skills.
- A cognitive performance test that helps to objectively assess your analytical thinking ability.
- A short personality questionnaire that provides insight into how you work, communicate, and approach problems.
Why? – We believe in a well-founded and fair basis for decision-making. Our assessment tools help us (and you) to better understand where your strengths lie and how you best fit into the team – completely without bias.
3. Technical Interview (approx. 60–90 minutes)
In an in-depth conversation with our developers, we will review the results of the challenge together, discuss solution approaches, and exchange ideas about architecture, code quality, and your development style. It is important to us that you can ask questions and that we speak with each other on equal terms.
Why? – We want to see how you think, how you approach problems, and what perspectives you can bring to our team. At the same time, you will get a realistic impression of how we work as a team and what technologies we use.
